Hi! How are you?
Have you finished your examinations yet? I have examinations on January after winter vacation. The winter vacation is from December 21 to January 10. It’s hard to write reports and study for examinations… In cross-cultural communication class, we formed ourselves in groups of 3 and do presentations about the countries which each groups chose　in the class on January. My group chose “South Korea” because all members of my group added in me　have been there. We are making slide shows with Power Point to use in presentation.

By the way, this is the last blog! I’m very sad that I can’t read your blog.
I could learn many things about your culture through this “Team Blog Project”. This was the precious experience　for me. I wanna keep communicating with you from now on.

In last weekend, I went t0 Tokyo Disney Land and Tokyo. Have you ever been there??? In Tokyo, I went to Asakusa and ate Monjya-yaki(like Okonomi-yaki), went to Asakusa to visit a shrine, went to Akihabara. Do you know this place??? There are many game or anime maniacs. And Maid cafe(clerk looks like maid) is popular, of course I went. ha-ha. But I'm not Anime or Game maniac!!! Roppongi was very nice place. Illumination was beautiful. If you go to Tokyo, please go there.

What will you do on the winter vacation?? I have to work!! Because I have to earn money to go to Germany on February. These days, oil price is rising…, so I have to pay more….

On January I'm going to go to Tokyo Disny Land with my sister and cousins. I'm looking forward to it!! Do you like this kind of amusement park?? I always enjoy shopping when I go to Disny Land. I like Disny characters! They are very cute! Don't you think?
I don't like roller coaster because I don't like high place, but my sister like it very much!So…maybe …I have to ride.

勉強勉強

月曜日から金曜日まで、期末試験があります。それから、現在から金曜日までてんてこ舞いで勉強しなくてはないんです。僕はたいてい送らせなくても、今回は忙しすぎたから、大した事なかったです。先生はみんな学生たちが期末試験のために勉強するべきのことを知っているけど、僕達は色々な試験や作文をさせられます、毎年に。厳しいなあ。
時間がないから、クラムと言う勉強し方です。クラムと言うのはテストの前日ばっかり何時間も徹夜の勉強する事とか、テストのすぐ前に勉強することです。日本語でクラムは何ですか。
クラムするのが大きらいですよ。皆さんは？

勉強しつつ、音楽を聞くのが好きのです。ただし、音楽は英語で歌ったら、ワークを焦点を絞れません。一方、日本語とかフランス語とか中国語の音楽などなどで、できます。

では、早速音楽聞いて、大変に勉強しよう！皆さん、休まずに勉強よ。

What do I do over Winter Break? I read lots and lots of books. I actually try to do my reading for the next semester to get ahead. My mother spends almost all of the winter in our cottage in Florida, so I drive down with my family, reading books all along the way. It is a really long drive, so I have lots of time to read when my dad or mom or someone else is driving.

Our cottage is in the middle of Florida, near a city called Ocala. That area produces more race horses than any other place in America. Instead of a rooster crowing, I get woken up by horses neighing.

My cottage is also close to a lot of attractions. Forty-five minutes to the east is Disney World, and forty-five minutes to the west is The Gulf of Mexico. There are all kinds of great beaches (where I also spend a lot of time reading).

It seems that I only value places where I can read. I guess I just love reading.

Hi everybody. Life is getting stressful with finals coming up, but one good thing is that winter vacation is coming up!
What do you guys like to do? I don't usually go on big vacations like a lot of people. I mostly stay and home and sleep, since I don't get much sleep at school.
Do Japanese college students have a long winter break?

期末試験！！

ブログのみなさん、お元気ですか？
ＭＳＵは来週に期末試験があります。生化学と生理学の試験は一番不安です。勉強しなければならない書類が机の上に溜まってます。色々復習することあるのに、なかなか集中できません。いくら復習しても量は減らないように見えます。困ったことです。けれど、期末試験を越えた後のクリスマスと冬休みを楽しみにしています。後もう少し頑張らなきゃ！ファイト！
週末に吹雪が来てて寮を出る気もなかった。ミシガン週の冬はとても寒いので、嫌いです。家の中から雪が降ってるのを見るのはきれいですが、降ってる間に外で歩くのは苦手です。風も強くて、自転車を一生懸命ペダルしてもどこにも行かない感じです。もっと暖かい州の大学に通うべきでした。後悔しています。（笑）

期末試験

みなさん、このごろどうですか？
そろそろ期末試験です。キャンパスのみんなは試験のために勉強しています。日本で、学期と期末試験が、ありますか？僕も期末試験のために勉強するべきですが、もっ期末の前に他の試験やプロジェクトがあります。とても忙しいです。
それから、日本語の授業で面白かったビデオを見ています。初めて一人具らしいしている学生は全部のいる物を十万円しかで買ってみます。すごいことに、フリーマとかリサイクルショップで買えました。一番面白かったことは若者の話すことおを聞きます。今、日本ではとても人気があるスラングはなんですか？
でわ、またすぐはります！

期末試験とストレスなどなど

みんなああああ！　生活が困ったんだ。今学期中にしているプロジェクトは間もなく出さなくてはいけないし、天気は最低だし、突然に期末試験が現れたし。。。そのために、ストレスがタークーサーンあるよね。

皆さん、ストレスが多すぎる時、どうやって楽にする，生活を？僕はたいてい好きな短編小説を読んだり、詩を書いたり、ジャズ音楽をのんびり聞きたりするけど、現在、時間はない。読書出来れば、クラスのための読書をするべきだな。皆さんはストレスがある時、どうする？音楽とか、温泉とか、お茶なんか
僕のルームメートなら、料理だろう。掃除も。他のそのような人はいるかな。

FOOD

私は食べることが大好きですっ！！好きな食べ物は…チョコレート、みかん、ハンバーグ、トマト　などなど。。。私はハンバーグが好きなんだけど、お母さんとお姉ちゃんはハンバーグがあまり好きではないから、自分で作ってます。最近では、煮込みハンバーグがブームです！食べたことありますか？？おいしいから是非試してみて！！

嫌いな食べ物は…生の魚、豆腐、にんじん、ハム…。子供のころは、にんじんが大好きだったのに、今では、絶対に食べれません！！理由は分からないけど、味覚って変わるんですね。。。
生の魚は、食べれないとけっこう困ります。。私のお父さんは、生の魚が大好きなので、毎晩、夕食で生の魚がでます。でも、私は食べれないから、私だけおかずが1品少ないんです！！



アメリカにはおいしい食べ物がたくさんあるよね？？いろいろな国の料理を食べることができるし。去年アメリカに行った時に、いろいろなものを食べました！中でも、私はメキシコ料理が好きです。タコサラダがおいしかったです！
アメリカでも日本の料理を食べることが出来るよね！？みんなは何か好きな日本料理ある？？

☆FOOD★

こんにちわー♪　みんなは食べること好き？？？私はすごく好き。食べてるときが幸せ（笑）　みんなのすきな食べ物は何ですか？？？


私の好きな食べ物は、麺類（ラーメンや焼きそば、うどん、パスタなどなど）、煮物、お肉。。。いっぱいありすぎて書ききれません！！！基本的に何でも食べます。でも唯一私が食べられないものは、ゆで卵です↓　においと味があまり好きじゃなくて。でも、スクランブルエッグやオムレツは食べれる☆むしろ好き。あと、最近カキ（oyster）が嫌いになりました。食べ過ぎて、もう食べたくない...　

私は、本当よく食べます（笑）あまりの食べっぷりにみんなに驚かれます。高校の時、部活の仲間とよく食べ放題によく行ってたなぁ～。今でも、ケーキの食べ放題に行ったりするけどね。日本では、今、大食い（eat much)ブーム。大食いタレントまでいるよ（ギャル曽根ちゃんって子が有名）　細いのにあの食欲には驚きですっっ！！！　でも私は食べた分だけ脂肪になります（笑）

そろそろ就職活動が始まる・・・これから大変になるなぁ。がんばりましょう！！！

デート・アンド・ホリデー

初めてのデートか…
私はもうすでに仲がいい友達としか付き合ったことないから、はっきり言うと「初めてのデート」に行ったことはない。相手の性格や好みをもう知ってるから、二人の趣味から何かを選んで次のデートで何をしたいかを決めます。たとえば、外食をしてから映画を見たり、買い物をしたり、テレビゲームをします。あっと言う間に時間が過ぎてしまいます。
カメルーンの初めてのデートはとても緊張しちゃいそうですね。けど、やっぱり付き合うならいつか彼や彼女の両親に会わなければならないでしょう。それと、初めてのデートでタブーな会話をあまり深く考えたことがなかった。
アメリカではクリスマスとサンクスギビングは家族を大事にするホリデーなので、絶対家族と一緒に過ごします。みんなの人は忙しいから、あまり家族とゆっくり話しできる時間がないからクリスマスとサンクスギビングはとてもいいホリデーだと思います。
Ｎｅｗ　Ｙｅａｒｓは友達と一緒にパーティーをします。新年が来るまで起きてています。十二時になったら、ニューヨークで大きなピカピカの球がゆっくり落ちてきて、それがテレビに放送してます。友達や家族のみんなでこの放送を見てます。カップルはよく十二時になったらキスをします。どうしてキスをするようになったかはよくわかりません。

初めまして、デート

Sugiyama2で話している皆さん、初めまして！遅くすぎるんだろうが、遅く始まります。ラリーと申します。MSUの三年生で、文学の専門です。趣味は詩と小説を読むとか、ギターを引くなんか、色々な音楽と映画です。

テーマはデートだったら、彼女がいる時は昔だっても、（長くすぎるよね）、よくデートします。僕の経験によって、初めてのデートは話し合えて、リラックス出来ることは一番大事です。たいてい、喫茶店で話すのがいいと思います。それから、彼女はジャッズが好きだったら、近い町のジャッズを聞きに行ってみます。でも、雰囲気は厳しくて，うるさかったら、嫌だな。
デートのためだけの活動、遊園地なんか、時々楽しいけど、たいていデートする人のことについてぜんぜん習わないでしょう。あなたの好きなものをするの方がいいと思います。

話さないことは無理だから、概して重い話題はダメだろうと思いますけど、話は自然に重大話題なら、go with it. 自然な会話も大事なんです。

Fashion

Hi, how are you?
I learned “the newest fashion” and “traditional fashion” in cross-cultural communication class this week.

What clothes are popular now in the US?
In Japan, bootie (short boots) and various-colored tights are very popular now. But, I don’t like short boots, so I wear long boots or pumps. In clothes, I wear knits, skirts, jeans, coats… How about you?

By the way, how do people celebrate coming of age in the US?
In Japan, in the year that people become 20 years old, they go to the ceremony taken place in January every year to celebrate it. Then, most of men wear suits, but a few men wear hakama (long pleated culotte-like Japanese trousers). Women mostly wear hurisode (long-sleeved kimono). I also wore it.
Also,　Japanese people sometimes wear yukata ( an informal cotton kimono for the summer season) in the summer. I usually wear it when I go to summer festivals and fireworks display.

What special clothes do you wear in various events? I’m interested in it!

ファッション♪

こんにちは☆今日はファッションについての勉強しました。

今、アメリカではどんなファッションが人気？？？日本では、今特にカラータイツ（紫とかピンクとかカラフルなの）やショートブーツ（日本ではブーティーって言うよ）、ショートパンツが流行っているよ。あと、つけまつげ（fake eyelashes)をつけたり、髪の毛をくるくる巻いたりするのも流行ってるかな。日本のファッションの流行は、本当さまざま！コスプレ、ロリータ系、ギャル系、お姉系、ビジュアル系などなど。。。私はその中のどれにも当てはまらないけど、カジュアルでラフな服装が好きだな☆ジーパンにTシャツみたいな！あとワンピースも好き。大学のみんなはおしゃれだから、いつも何着ていこうか迷ってる・・・制服だったら考えなくてもいいのになぁ↓今ほしいものがたくさん！コートにブーツにニット帽にスカートに・・・おしゃれするのってお金もたくさんかかるし大変だなぁ～でも楽しいよね！！！みんなはどんな格好、服装が好き？？？

今日は授業でファッションについて話し合いました！今、流行のファッションは何？？とか、海外では今どんなファッションが流行ってる？？とか…。

今、日本では、カラータイツやブーティー（ショートブーツ）が流行ってるよ★去年はニーハイの靴下が流行ってたよ！

アメリカではどう？？学校に行くときとかどんな服を着てる？？私が去年アメリカに行った時、アメリカ人の学生は、日本人の学生よりラフな格好をしていて、少し驚きました！！



夏休みに、友達と韓国に旅行に行ったときに、韓国の人のファッションを見て、日本とは違うなぁ～って思ったことがあります！！女の子のほとんどが、前髪が短くて、メガネをかけていました！それが韓国の今の流行なのかな？？ちょっと疑問に思いました。

私は、そんなにファッションにはこだわらないけど、買い物に行くのは大好きだよ。新しい服や靴を買ったときってワクワクしない？？いつ着ていこう？？とか、どの服と合わせたらいいかなぁ～？？とか…。。。
私は、優柔不断だから、お店に1人で行くと、どれを買うかをなかなか決められなくって…。だから、たいていお姉ちゃんについて来てもらって選んでもらってますっ！最近では、自分がどんな服が好きなのか分からなくなってきています。

Mine was busy. I helped my parents make the food. We made turkey, gravy, green bean casserole, yams, apple pie, and mashed potatoes. It was fun to do everything as a family. After that, we watched "Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta!"

今週の授業のテーマは“初めてのデート”でした。授業で取り上げられたのは、初めてのデートで行くお勧めの場所や、避けたほうがいい話題などでした。

みんなは初めてのデートでどんな所に行ってみたいですか？
私なら“映画”に行ったり、“食事”に行ったりしたいです。授業の中では、“水族館”や“遊園地”がお勧めという人もいました。そのほか、“買い物”に行くなどなど・・・
他の国では一般的にどんな所に行くのかについても、授業の中で少し取り上げられました。例えば、イングランドでは“居酒屋”へ行き、韓国では“レストラン”行くことが一般的だそうです。

次に、初めてのデートではどんな話題を避けたほうがいいと思いますか？
授業では、“前の彼氏や彼女のこと”、“学校の成績”、また、“自分の話を多くしすぎる”などいろんな意見がありました。
韓国では“他人の弱み”について話すこと、カメルーンでは“お金のこと”について話すことなどが避けられます。
国によって、初めてのデートで行く場所や、避けた方がいい話題は様々です。

Hi. How are you???

Today, I'm going to write about "first date". By the way, what do you do in your first date??? And, what do you want to do in your first day??? My ideal date plan is... go to watch movie, go to aquarium, go to zoo, go to theme park...etc. Now, I don't have a boyfriend, so I'm very sad.

Now I remenber, Cristmas coming soon. Do you have a plan on Cristmas Day? I don't have any plan yet. Maybe I will spend a time with my friends. Last year, I did Cristmas and Nabe party with them, ate cake, played game, wore Santa claus's costume...It was very nice time. It is good to spend a time onCristmas day with friend, I think!!! I want to go to Tokyo Disney Land on Cristmas day with boyfriend someday.

♪デート♪

こんにちは★今日は授業でデートについて話しました！初めてのデートではどこに行きたい？？とか、相手にどんなことをしてほしくない？？などなど…。。国によって考え方はいろいろ違うみたい。
例えば、カメルーンでは、初めてのデートで、彼氏や彼女を親戚の人に会わせるんだって！！！私だったら絶対に嫌だな～。緊張しちゃいそうだし…。



私は、初めてのデートは、昼食を食べに行くのがベストかなって思います！場所は落ち着いた雰囲気の所がいいな♪イタリアンレストランとか…。
あと、私は野球を観るのが好きだから、野球を観に行くのもいいと思いますっ！！でも、私の場合、野球を観るのに集中しすぎて、会話ができなくなっちゃうので、一緒にいる意味がなくなってしまうこともあります。。。
他には…水族館や映画館、ドライブっていう人もいたよ！

I read that you like watching baseball. I am not a huge baseball fan, but I like watching American football. I watch both professional football and college football.
I know a lot of people in the US do very elaborate things for Halloween, but my family didn't give out candy and I didn't go Trick-or-Treating (going to every house and asking people for candy). I live in a dorm on campus, so for Halloween little kids came to our dorm and we handed out candy. They were all very cute.
I do not watch a lot of TV, but the one TV drama I do watch is House. It is a medical drama. Have you heard of it?
A lot of people, both young and old, do cross their fingers to show that they are lying.

A lot of Japanese people do a peace sign when taking pictures, but that is not really done in the US. I have had people ask me why Japanese people do that, because they think it is really strange. What some people do in pictures is put "bunny ears" behind someone to make a fool out of them. It looks like putting a peace sign behind their head and having the fingers

It is very cold here in the winter. I hate the cold so much. You are so lucky to have traveled to so many places. I would like to go to Europe sometime. There might be some study abroad programs to come to the US, so you should try that!
A form of body language that is often used in the US is shrugging. This is a gesture done when you want to tell people that you do not know.

Unfortunately, in the US people do not spend enough time thanking people who have helped them or apologize to people when they make a mistake. Sometimes you can leave a restaurant in the US and they will not say anything to you. It is very sad. I think it is a good thing that Japanese people spend the time to be polite to one another.

Drinking

今週の授業では"Drinking"について勉強したので、そのことについて紹介したいと思います。
みんなは普段どんな飲み物をよく飲みますか？
私は食事のとき、特に家で食事をするときは、煎茶（green tea）を飲みます。また、紅茶（tea）やミルクココア（milk cocoa）などもよく飲みます。寒い季節には、これらを温めて飲むことが多いです。最近では、野菜ジュース（vegetable juice）なども飲んだりします。そのほか、私はコーヒーだけで飲むのは苦手なので、ミルクの入っているカフェラッテ（caffellatte）やカプチーノ(cappuccino)などを飲んだりします。また、炭酸が苦手なので、コーラ（coke）などの炭酸飲料はあまり飲まないです。
ところで、みんなは普段お酒を飲んだりしますか？
私は友達と一緒にご飯を食べに行ったときに、少しお酒を飲んだりすることもあります。

みんなはどうですか？ とても興味があります。ぜひいろいろ教えてください！

My apologies + body language

I want to apologize to everyone for my lack of posting. Though it is no excuse, I have been very busy.
Halloween was not fun for me. I was studying for a test instead going out with my friends. But such is the life of a student.
The concept of body language is very interesting. Being in a Japanese language class and knowing my Japanese friend's family, I have gotten used to bowing. Do you ever notice, though, that for certain people you bow differently? For example, when I see a sensei who I have not seen in a long time I bow very deeply, usually looking at the ground. But if I see a sensei I am very familiar with, I bow very slightly, not making a big deal about it.
One Japanese body language I enjoy is the motion of cutting the hair on the back of your head to mean 'crazy'. Do you guys know this, or is it only in certain parts of the country? In the U.S., the sign for crazy is using a finger to make a circle around one ear repeatedly.

Body Language

Hi, this is Rie.

I learned about body language in cross-cultural communication class last week. We often use body language while we talking. 60%-80% of conversation is them.
The most popular body language in Japan is bow, I think. When we meet someone for the first time, greet, thank, apologize someone, we usually use it. I work at Izakaya(bar reataurant) as a part time job, to bow is very important thing. When guests leave the restaurant, I say "Thank you very much" and bow. And when I miss something, I apologize and bow deeply. To bow, it expresses sincere respect and thanks. Body language is very important, I think. I can understand other's feeling or thinking only see their actions, emotion and attitude.

In America, what bodylanguage do you often use??? I want to know.

Recently, it is cold, isn't it? Be careful for your health.

Drinking

こんにちは。

先週、授業でDrinkingのことについて勉強しました。みんなはお酒を飲むの好きですか？？？私は、まあまあ好きです。お酒にはそんなに強くないけれど、たまに友達とのみに行ったりします。よく飲むのは、カクテルや酎ハイかな☆カシスとかピーチとかの甘いお酒♪でも、まだビールがおいしいとは思いません。苦いっ！！！ もうちょっと歳をとったらおいしいと思えるのかな☆みんなはビールのみますか？？？

私は最近アルバイトで、お酒を作ったりもしています。カクテルや焼酎の種類が多すぎて、名前や作り方を全然覚えられません（汗）
みんなはどんなお酒をよく飲みますか？？？前に、カクテルの種類（カシスとかピーチとかライチとか...などなど）がこんなにたくさんあるのは日本ぐらいだと聞いたことがあるんだけど、アメリカではどうなのかな？とても気になります。

あと、最近カフェラテにはまってます！寒い時には温かい飲み物は最高ですよね。体があったまる♪

Do you like drinking???

I like drinking alcohol but I can't drink so much because I get drunk in a minute.


In my country, we can drink alcohol from 20 years old, but many people drink before they become 20 years old….


I don't like bitter drink, so I don't like beer. I can't understand why many people like drinking beer. Do you like it??? What kind of drink do you like?

I like non alcoholic drink rather than alcoholic drink. I like to drink vegetable juice because it is good for my health, and it is very delicious.Tere are many tastes, for example apple, lemon, raspberry, mango and so on.



By the way, my best friend stays in Germany to study German, so I am going to go to Germany in February to meet her. Have you ever been to Germany??? If you have been there, please tell me about it.

Body language

Hi, I’m Yuka.
I learned body language　again in cross-cultural communication class this　week. I’ m going to introduce some of them.

When people form their thumbs and forefingers into circles with the other three fingers splayed upward in the US, it means “OK” or “No problem”. This is the same as Japan. However, when people form their thumbs and forefingers into circles with the other three fingers splayed downward and horizontally, it means “money” in Japan. Though their body language is alike, the meanings of them differ completely.
Also, the body language meant “crazy” in the US means “telephone call” in Argentina. I was very surprised at the difference of meanings.
I wonder there is same body language in different culture through this class.

By the way, many Japanese people do peace sign for pictures. In the class, the teacher asked us why Japanese people do peace sign. However, anybody didn’t answer reasons. I didn’t know, either…
What do you pose for pictures? I want to know. Please tell me if any!

Cold Weather

Recently, a friend of my mother's went back to Japan, but before she went, she let us have her kotatsu. I have known about it for a long time, because my mother is Japanese, but I have never used one before. It is really nice for the cold weather, especially in Michigan.

Body Language

Today, I studied body langueges in the class, and I learned many interesting gestures.

For example, "patting hair" means vanity in America, but in Japan it is no meaning, and many Japanese women including me often pat hair, so I was very surprised and shocked!!
"Crossing index and middle fingers of both hands and putting them behind back" means lying in America. I didn't know this gesture! I think this is very funny!! In Japan, we don't use this gesture and we don't have a gesture that means lying. If I have a chance I want to use it. In America, do people often use this gesture??? Please tell me!

These days, it become cold little by little. Last week, I had a cold(:-;) Please be careful not to catch a cold!!

こんにちは！！

10月31日はハロウィンでしたね！どうでしたか？？どんなことをしましたか？？？すごく興味があります。写真とかも見たいです！！

日本ではアメリカほどハロウィンは有名ではありません。。。私は小学生の時、ハロウィンを知りませんでした！！絶対に損をしていたと思います。今年は学校で先生にお菓子をもらったり、バイト先でお菓子を配ったりしました。先週の授業では、いろいろなゲームをしました。トイレットペーパーをクラスメイトに巻いてマミーにしたり…ビンゴをやったり…。すごく楽しかったです♪♪

ところで…、今日本では、アメリカのTVドラマが人気です。ER、LOST、２４、PRISON BREAK、OC　などいろいろありますが、何かお勧めはありますか？？

HALLOWEEN

Hi, I’m Yuka.
I learned “Halloween” this week. On Halloween, kids dress up in costumes. For example, pirate, witch, vampire, mummy, werewolf... After they dress up, they go from house to house, say “trick-or-treat” and get candy!
I don't think many Japanese people have the custom to observe Halloween. However, I often see goods in shape of jack-o’-lantern in variety stores. I observed Halloween for the first time when I took the classes of English teachers. It was very fun! In this class, we enjoyed mummy wrap game. The teacher photographed it! Also, we played bingo. At the end of the class, I got chocolate from the teacher!
How do you observe Halloween? What costume have you worn? I’m interested in it!

I learned body language in cross-cultural communication class last week, so I’m going to introduce it.
When you meet someone for the first time, how do you greet him? In this case, I bow to him. However, when I was in the US to study abroad last year, it was common to shake hands. I had thought people shook hands only on the occasion of business before then.

In my culture, it’s impolite to yawn in front of people, point people, lean our elbows on the table when we have meals.

By the way, do you commute from your parents’ house to the university or live alone?
I commute from my parents’ house and use a train and subway. It’s takes one hour and twenty minutes to get to the university. However, the station is very near to my house, so it’s very handy.

もうすぐハロウィンですね！今日は、授業でハロウィンパーティーをしました。トイレットペーパーを巻きつけるMummy Wrap Game をやったり、ビンゴをやったりとても楽しかったです。お菓子ももらいました。日本では、ハロウィンを祝う習慣がないのでとても寂しいです...何で日本はハロウィンやらないんだろう（涙）コスチュームを着たり、お菓子をもらったりしたーい♪
みんなは、ハロウィンにはどんなことをするのですか？？？
ハロウィンの日は、妹の１８歳の誕生日です。その日は家族でお食事に行く予定★今、誕生日プレゼントに何を買おうか迷ってます。。。もう時間がないっ！！！

Yesterday, I joined in the employment guidance. I heared talk from senior students who received the company's job offer.
Do you have a work that you want to do??? I was thinking that want to work at hotel, airport, or office. I'd like to work at Nagoya city, it's handy for me.
I am worried about job. I have to try hard to think about it.

By the way, my pet named Aroma becomes 1 years old in Oct.27. When he came to my house, he was only 3 months. He is so cute, and looks like a stuffed toy. However, he is naughty, and often eat secretly, sleep long... he is a handful?!
In this weekend, I'm going to go to watch movie and go shopping with my friend. Do you have a plan in your weekend???

はじめまして！私の名前はダイアナ・シュワーブです。ミシガン州大学の三年生で専門は国際関係と日本語です。

私も旅行することが大好きです！イギリスとハイチとジャマイカに行ったことがあって、七年前に滋賀県栗東市で留学しましたたが、残念なことに二週間だけでした。でも、日本はとても楽しいと思いました！春で桜が咲いていて、風景が美しかったです。

今日は私の日常生活について紹介します！

私は家族と一緒に暮らしています。父、母、姉、祖母と私の５人家族です。お姉ちゃんは２歳年上で、よく一緒に旅行に行ったり、買い物に行ったりします
。
大学には家から通っています。電車と地下鉄で２時間かかります。毎朝、電車で寝てしまいます。。。。

DVDやCDのレンタル店で半年くらい前からアルバイトをしています。私は、音楽を聴いたり、映画を観たりすることが好きなので、楽しいです。最近、「Holiday」をDVDで観ました。ジュウ・ドロウがかっこよかった！！オススメです！

こんにちは。今週の授業では名前について学んだので、そのことについて紹介したいと思います。

私の名前は漢字で“友香”と書いて、“ゆか（Yuka）”と読みます。“友”を“ゆ（yu）”、香を“か（ka）”と読みます。“友”は”friend”,“香”は”perfume”を意味します。“友”という漢字は“とも（tomo）”と読むことができるので、初対面の人には、間違って“ともか（Tomoka）”と呼ばれることがたまにあります･･･。また、“香”という漢字は、“かおり（kaori）”と読むこともできます。友達からは、“ゆかちゃん”と呼ばれています。
名前の由来についてはよく知らないけれど、名前を付けるときに、この名前でいいかどうかについて、姓名判断を行っている人に見てもらったというのを親から聞いたことがあります。
私が生まれたとき、この名前を付けることがブームだったらしく、“ゆか”という名前の友達が私の周りに何人もいます。けれど、読み方は同じでも、名前に使われている漢字は違うことが多いです。例えば、“由”、“有”、“優”、“夕”、“結”という漢字を“ゆ”と読み、“花”、“華”、“佳”という漢字を“か”と読み、名前に当てたりします。読み方は同じでも、これら全ての漢字は異なる意味を持っているので、人によってそれぞれの名前の持つ意味は違っています。

アメリカでは、どうやって名前が付けられているかとても興味があります。またぜひ教えてください！

はじめまして！僕はメイトランドマーシュと申します。ミシガン州立大学の三年生で、せんこうはコンピューターかがくです。一年生の時に日本語を勉強し始めて、毎年日本語の授業を楽しみにしました。もう、色々な間違いをするけど、一年生と比べれば、僕のクラスのしんかはすごいと思います。
僕のしゅみはコンピューターやインターネットでひまつぶしで、しゅうきゅう（サッカー）をやり、友だちと色々なことをします。音楽も大好きです。日本のバンドに興味があるけど、歌をみつけるのはちょっと難しいです。一番好きな日本のバンドはピロズです。しってる？有名かどうかしらないけど、とてもいいと思います。
映画も興味があり、アメリカの映画の中で愛用の映画は何と言ってもスターウオスです。日本の映画なら、たけしきたのの映画はとても面白いと思います。「あにき」を始め、「kids return」などたいへんすごいと思います。
授業で大体東京べんを習うけど、かんさいべんにも興味や若者のひげんにも興味があります。そちて、日本の落語とまんざいはすごくて、ゆくゆくできるといいんですが。
一人っ子で、ワンちゃんがにひきいて、とりがいっぴきいます。しかし、授業があると、キャンパスのりょうに住みます。ざんえんことに、りょうの部屋はちさくて、となりがうるさいかわり、そんなに高くありません。

こんにちは。この前授業で名前のことについて勉強したので、今日は名前のことについて書こうと思います。

みんなは自分の名前好きですか？？？私は好きです。私の名前は、ごく普通の名前だけど漢字が気に入っています。“梨愛”（RIE）と書きます。“梨”→（り）、“愛”→（え）。
名前の由来はよくわからないけど、漢字の“梨”は果物のPear、“愛”はLoveを意味しています。
高校生の時には、“RIE”という名前の子がクラスに２～３人もいたので、漢字の読み方を変えて“RIAI”（りあい）というニックネームで呼ばれていました。“愛”は（あい）と読むこともできます。“りあい”という名前もとても気に入っています。本当はこっちの名前のほうが、よかったな。。。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　

私は、居酒屋でアルバイトをしています。そこの仲間には、“やまちゃん”と呼ばれています。名字の“山内”（YAMAUCHI)の“山”（YAMA)＝Mountainからきています。でも、やまちゃんと呼ばれるのはあまり好きではありません...

This week, I learned about "name"in the class. For example, what does my first name mean, what is a nickname and so on.

My name is Yumiko, and in Chinese character "有美子". It means " Be a beautiful child". "有" means "Be", "美" means "Beautiful", and "子" means "Child". My parents hope me to be a beautiful woman.

Hello, my name is Yuka. Nice to meet you. I’m junior and learn English, American society and culture and racial problems at the university.
I went to the US, Ohio State for one month to study English last year. It was hard for me to take English classes at the university, but I could enjoy the classes, the activities after school and the homestay. In activities, I participated in parties to get on with international students. I made Japanese food sushi in a party. It was very happy. In the homestay, I stayed at single woman’s house. She worked at the university and was always busy, but I could go shopping in grocery stores and shopping malls with her. Also, I met her mother and friends.
I thought I could make precious memories through studying abroad.

Next, I’m going to introduce my family. There are four people in my family – my father, mother and little sister. My sister is 18 years old and in her third year of high school.

I like to go on a trip, I've been to Europe and Australia. In this summer vacation, I went to Korea. Food was delicious, cheap, foot massage was good...I had a very very good time. I'll go there again in the near future. I've never been to America, so I want to go!!!
And recently I'm interested to watch baseball, same as Yumiko. We go to watch it together sometime and talk about it as always. We are crazy about baseball?! ha ha
